Omagh Model Flying Club

Hello and welcome to the website of Omagh Model Flying Club.

We are a small club based just outside Omagh, County Tyrone in Northern Ireland.

All flying disciplines are persued - fixed wing, helicopter, electric etc.. The club fly from one site near the town and flying is usually possible on any day of the week. The club is affiliated to the BMFA.

UK Airspace Restrictions
RESTRICTION OF FLYING REGULATIONS - G8 SUMMIT, ENNISKILLEN, NORTHERN IRELAND 16-18 JUNE 2013.

1 Introduction
1.1 The 39th G8 Summit will be held at the Lough Erne Resort, County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland between 16-18 June 2013. As part
of the overall security arrangements for the event, The Secretary of State for Transport has deemed it necessary, in the national interest, to
introduce the following Restriction of Flying Regulations under Article 161 of the Air Navigation Order 2009 (military aircraft should comply
with The Manual of Military Air Traffic Management, Chapter 4, Paragraph 27):
a. Subject to paragraph (d) between 1700 on 16 June and 2259 on 18 June, no aircraft is to fly below FL 100 within the area
bounded by:
i. straight lines joining successively the following points:
A. 541526N 0071626W;
B. 542500N 0081000W; and
C. 544012N 0074943W; and
ii. the clockwise arc of a circle, having a radius of 17 nm whose centre is at 542354N 0074136W between 544012N 0074943W
and 541526N 0071626W.
b. Subject to paragraph (d) between 0730 and 1500 on 17 June and between 1600 and 2259 on 18 June, no aircraft is to fly below
6000 ft amsl within the area bounded by:
i. the clockwise arc of a circle, having a radius of 17 nm whose centre is at 542354N 0074136W between 543328N 0071732W
and 542157N 0071243W; and
ii. a straight line between 542157N 0071243W and 542754N 0062307W; and
iii. the clockwise arc of a circle, having a radius of 13 nm whose centre is at 543927N 0061257W between 542754N 0062307W
and 544635N 0063141W; and
iv. straight lines joining successively the following points:
A. 544635N 0063141W;
B. 543913N 0064447W; and
C. 543328N 0071732W.
c. Subject to paragraph (e) between 0715 and 1400 on 17 June and between 1600 and 2259 on 18 June, no aircraft is to fly below
FL 105 within the area bounded by:
i. the clockwise arc of a circle, having a radius of 13 nm whose centre is at 543927N 0061257W between 542634N 0061018W
and 545030N 0062442W; and
ii. straight lines joining successively the following points:
A. 545030N 0062442W;
B. 545216N 0060000W;
C. 543801N 0055422W;
D. 542802N 0060613W; and
E. 542634N 0061018W.
